Julie Van Der Karr

Julie Van Der Karr began her dance education at the Boitsov Classical Ballet School in Chicago, Illinois under Madame Elizabeth Boitsov and continued at the New York School of Classical Dance under Ms. Janet Springer and Mr. John Barker. She attended the advanced program at the Kirov Academy in Washington, DC under Mariinsky/Kirov Prima Ballerina Alla Sizova. Her dance credits also include the Roudnev Ballet and Tennessee Ballet Theatre. She is a pedagogical student and teacher of the School of Classical Dance. And she has been certified to teach by the Bolshoi Ballet Academy of Russia, and Classical Dance Alliance of New York City.

 

Ms. Van Der Karr holds a BA in World Languages and Literature from the University of Memphis with a Minor in Dance. Ms. Van Der Karr is an ambassador of Bikram Yoga and participated in the USA Yoga Asana Championship, where she placed third in her region.

Van Der Karr is passionate about teaching for the St. Petersburg Festival of Dance as well as the next generation of aspiring dancers.
